TELECOMMUNICATIONS

The London Ambulance Service takes seriously the foot and mouth crisis.  We are all familiar with the problems caused by “open” microphones, especially when discussing sexual matters and whose turn it is to green up.  More menacing is the dribble found at hospital from crews ringing loved ones on their mobiles.

We fully recognise that the phones on station are pants, and the handsets found on some vehicles work only to prop open lift doors or to throw at an assailant. However the use of unauthorised telecommunications equipment on or near LAS vehicles is to stop. You know it is irradiating your brain. You’ll end up doing more nights.

When we return from another jolly we will roll out the barrel, er, sorry- trial, of the new radios we intend to make personal issue (see below) This should ensure you have no problem incinerating passing birds as you argue with Control about yet another late job.
