FUEL CRISIS

The Cycle Response Unit (CRU) trial has been proved to be a success. In the light of the current fuel crisis, the Board of London Ambulance Service NHS Trust has decided to fully implement Operation Saddle.

With immediate effect, Service vehicles are to be returned to station and crews are to report to their station officer. The BP fuel card is to be cut in half, and each segment will be exchanged on a one-for-one basis for the personal issue of cycle clips, high visibility, green/white checkered.

Her majesty’s government has introduced new performance targets

Category A : Where the crew cyclist has ridden a bike in the last 5 years – 8     minutes

Category B:  Where the crew cyclist remembers seeing a bike at one of their sons’ friends houses – 14 minutes

Category C:  Where additional mountings for 100% nicotine apparatus and kebab holders may slow the cyclist down – 19 minutes

A training order detailing protocols for implementing Operation Saddle will be issued shortly.
